Indiana Fever Sign Australian Forward Chloe Bibby to Seven-Day Contract
Indianapolis, IN – July 25, 2025 — The Indiana Fever have added depth to their roster with the signing of Australian forward Chloe Bibby to a seven-day contract, the team announced on Friday. The move comes as the Fever manage injuries and seek additional frontcourt support during a crucial stretch of the WNBA season.
Bibby, 25, brings international experience and versatility to Indiana’s lineup. A native of Warracknabeal, Victoria, Australia, the 6-foot-1 forward has been playing professionally overseas since going undrafted in the 2022 WNBA Draft. She most recently suited up for the Perth Lynx in Australia’s WNBL and had a strong season in the Israeli Premier League with Maccabi Haifa, where she averaged 15.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.
“We’re excited to bring in Chloe and see what she can offer over the next week,” Fever head coach Christie Sides said in a team statement. “She’s a high-energy player with size, toughness, and international experience. She’s been playing well overseas and this gives her a chance to show what she can do at this level.”
Bibby’s signing fills a temporary roster spot created due to injuries on the Fever’s bench. While the specifics of the current injuries have not been disclosed, the team has been managing short rotations in recent games. With a demanding schedule ahead, Bibby’s presence provides an immediate option for relief minutes and added rebounding.
Bibby is no stranger to American basketball fans. She played college ball in the United States, spending three seasons at Mississippi State before transferring to the University of Maryland for her final two years. With the Terrapins, Bibby became known for her three-point shooting and defensive intensity, helping lead the team to deep NCAA Tournament runs. Across her collegiate career, she averaged 10.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game while shooting 37% from beyond the arc.
The Fever (currently 11–15) are pushing to remain competitive in a tightly packed Eastern Conference, led by 2023 No. 1 overall pick Aliyah Boston and rising star Caitlin Clark. With the postseason race heating up, every win counts—and adding fresh legs like Bibby’s could make a key difference in short stretches.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity,” Bibby said in a statement from the team. “It’s always been a dream of mine to play in the WNBA. I’m ready to give everything I have to help the team in any way I can.”
Bibby is expected to join the Fever immediately and could be available as early as Saturday’s home game against the Dallas Wings. Whether she plays right away or simply provides practice support, the seven-day contract gives both the player and the team a valuable opportunity to evaluate fit moving forward.
The signing marks another step in the Fever’s strategy of developing and testing young talent while managing injuries and workload. For Bibby, it’s a long-awaited shot at the world’s top women’s basketball league—and a chance to prove she belongs.
