London, UK – July 9, 2025 – Rock legends Ozzy Osbourne and his iconic band Black Sabbath have once again proven that heavy metal has a heart. The band has raised an astounding $190 million through a global charity initiative aimed at supporting a range of humanitarian causes including mental health, disaster relief, and children’s healthcare.
The massive fundraising effort, dubbed “Heaven and Earth: The Black Sabbath Charity Tour,” combined live performances, exclusive merchandise, and a series of high-profile auctions that spanned three continents. The campaign was coordinated in partnership with international NGOs and corporate sponsors, marking one of the largest charitable contributions ever made by a rock band.
In a statement released Tuesday, Ozzy Osbourne, 76, expressed deep gratitude to fans and supporters. “We never imagined this would grow the way it did. This isn’t just about music — it’s about coming together to make a real difference. I’m blown away by the love and support from everyone around the world.”
The band reunited earlier this year for the first time since their official farewell in 2017. While health challenges had previously sidelined Osbourne, his return to the stage — albeit in limited appearances — was hailed as triumphant. Fans across the globe embraced the chance to see the original lineup, joined by special guest artists such as Dave Grohl, Metallica’s James Hetfield, and even Elton John in a surprise duet with Osbourne.
The tour’s proceeds were distributed to several key causes:
$70 million to international mental health programs, in honor of Osbourne’s long-standing advocacy.
$50 million for children’s hospitals and pediatric cancer research.
$30 million allocated to global disaster relief funds, including support for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.
The remaining $40 million will fund scholarships and music education programs in underserved communities.
Tony Iommi, Black Sabbath’s guitarist, emphasized the band’s commitment to giving back. “We’ve been given a lot over the years, and it felt like the right time to use our platform to do something meaningful — especially with everything happening in the world right now.”
Fans and celebrities alike took to social media to celebrate the success of the campaign. Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy’s wife and longtime manager, praised the team effort behind the scenes. “This has been months in the making. The logistics were crazy, but every second was worth it.”
The success of the campaign has sparked discussions of a follow-up project in 2026, possibly involving a broader lineup of rock and metal artists under the banner of “Metal for Humanity.”
For now, the band is taking a brief pause, but the impact of their efforts continues to reverberate — a powerful reminder that even the loudest voices in rock can deliver a message of hope and healing.
