Tyrese Haliburton Shows Strong Support for Indiana Fever and Injured Caitlin Clark

INDIANAPOLIS, July 7, 2025 – Despite being sidelined with an Achilles injury, Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton continues to be a visible and vocal supporter of the WNBA’s Indiana Fever and their rookie sensation, Caitlin Clark. Haliburton’s presence at recent Fever games — including a July 5 matchup against the Los Angeles Sparks — has highlighted the growing camaraderie between Indiana’s professional basketball franchises and the rising influence of women’s sports.

Haliburton was seen cheering from a suite at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, his right foot in a recovery boot following surgery for a torn Achilles tendon suffered in late June. Still recovering, Haliburton didn’t let his injury stop him from showing up to support the Fever, who were without Clark for the fifth consecutive game due to a lingering groin injury.

“This is bigger than just basketball,” Haliburton said in a recent media appearance. “Caitlin is a special talent, and this city is behind her. I just wanted to show that love and support, especially while she’s out.”

Clark, who has become a household name since entering the WNBA, has been managing a left groin strain that has kept her out of play for over a week. Her injury came at a challenging time for the Fever, who had just built momentum with a string of wins and their victory in the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup on July 1 — a game Clark also missed.

Despite her absence, the Fever have stepped up. With contributions from veterans and bench players alike, they secured a dominant 74–59 win over the Minnesota Lynx to claim the midseason cup. Haliburton, watching from afar, tweeted his excitement: “LFG @IndianaFever 🏆,” signaling his pride in the team’s accomplishment.

The friendship between Haliburton and Clark goes beyond public gestures. The two have built a rapport that includes sharing basketball advice, mutual encouragement, and mutual respect. Their bond was initially formed through Clark’s boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, who worked on the Pacers’ staff last season. Since then, Haliburton and Clark have frequently supported each other both on and off the court.

“She’s got such a great basketball mind,” Haliburton said of Clark. “We text all the time about games, plays, pressure — it’s a real basketball friendship.”

Their relationship reflects a growing connection between the Pacers and Fever organizations. Both teams share the same home arena and ownership group, and both have enjoyed recent success — with the Pacers reaching the NBA Finals and the Fever making a mid-season surge.

As Clark continues her recovery, Fever head coach Stephanie White described her return as “day-to-day.” Meanwhile, Haliburton remains sidelined but engaged, drawing inspiration from the Fever’s resilience.

With Indiana’s basketball culture at a high point, the mutual support between its biggest stars — even while injured — speaks volumes about the strength of the city’s sports community.

“We’re all part of the same team here,” Haliburton said. “Indiana basketball is alive and well — and it’s just getting started.”
